| history & general information John and Marg Freeman own and run The Fringe merino stud at Briagolong. It was founded by John's father in 1947 with a draft of Valleyfield ewes, one Merryville stud ram and the aim to breed sheep that produce heavy cutting, fine to superfine fleece with good length, colour and style. Over the years, with the exclusive use of Merryville blood rams in the breeding program, this aim has been achieved. The success of the breeding program is demonstrated by the impressive results at shows throughout the state. Up to date breeding program expertise is provided by our stud advisor Rob Russell of Sheepscope Sheepclassing Services. The Fringe is uniquely placed at Briagolong to maintain excellent health status and great care is taken to keep The Fringe flock in isolation. The flock is accredited:- Ovine Brucellosis Free
- MN1 in the National Johne's Program
